This class was crafted for anyone wishing to explore their cupcake artistry and sprinkle a bit of sweetness into their everyday lives. Let me take you through what was involved in this lovely afternoon!

Setting the mood is vital, and The Workroom at Love Local excels in that aspect. Its light, airy & calming ambiance and thoughtful arrangement ensured everyone felt at ease and ready to create.

A spacious table for all to sit comfortably around, gave an informal feel where everyone felt included in the workshop. The set up allowed everyone to chat and bounce ideas and inspiration off each other, and also gave everyone a good view of the demonstrations.

Getting Started: All About the Cupcakes

Each participant had a box containing four freshly baked cupcakes, all ready to be transformed into culinary art; along with a practice sheet for piping on to build up confidence and try out different piping nozzles before icing the cupcakes.

Demonstrations on how to fit the piping bag with the nozzle and fill with buttercream started the class off; everyone had a go at this before the piping began. Showing different techniques with various piping nozzles followed, and then the participants got to the fun part!

The Techniques: Frosting and Beyond

A standout feature of the class was mastering various piping techniques. Armed with piping bags, participants got hands-on, experimenting with different designs. The thrill of watching icing swirl onto a cupcake, creating unique patterns, was truly rewarding.
